You know what is annoying? Sayings that people find incredibly thought-provoking...when really it's just the first part of the phrase reworded for ironic purposes. Like:
"Life is not about the number of breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away."
or
"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."
or
"True love isn't about finding the perfect person, it's about finding the person that's perfect for you!"
It sounds meaningful at first, but after you think a moment, instead of getting some rush of insight, you realize that it isn't witty but in fact just really STUPID.
Reminds me of the movie Mystery Men:
Sphinx: Your temper is very quick, my friend. But until you learn to master your rage --
Mr. Furious: Your rage will become your master? That's what you were gonna say, right? Right?
Sphinx: Not necessarily.
