What a fun day! Jared was riding my bike around ALL DAY - corralling people in through the field when they arrived, serving up drinks, etc. Sunday was UNGODLY hot and we had a ladderball tourney in the back yard. Jared & I played against Heidi and Dad, and in-between turns we took turns doing creative ballet leaps through the sprinkler to help with the heat. I kind of felt like a kid again, running through a sprinkler. And it felt good. Anyway, Heidi surprised us in the end with an AMAZING comeback by throwing two triplers just as we were about to win! Jared threw his hat across the yard, yelled some obscenities, and then sped off on the bike saying "I'm LEAVING." Dad picked up the sprinkler and soaked Jared. A few minutes later Dad peeked through the garage window and saw Jared filling up some water balloons in retalliation. So Dad snuck the hose up against the house and waited there holding the spray nozzle - ready to strike! Just when we thought Jared wasn't coming, Maggie stood and attention and growled really loudly -- she saw Jared creeping around the side of the house and gave him up!! FOILED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jared threw the balloons and missed. It was damn hilarious to see my Dad and Jared playing pranks like that. Like little kids. All that hard work on Jared's part, and he was called out by the dog.
